Shapemaker

I really like unusual geometric shapes and wanted a web app that I could explore them with, and be able to export and 3d print them.

An earlier capture of the browser editor; the current app has added more shapes and controls.

Make geometric forms for fabrication and art, with real dimensions and direct STL or SVG export.

Shapemaker is a browser app for exploring geometric forms. Start with a base shape, give it real dimensions, choose hollow or solid, and adjust walls, openings or distortions such as jitter, truncation and subdivision.

Several printed and painted geometric forms made with Shapemaker

Some of the shapes I printed, sanded and painted in different colors and finishes.

Its quite easy to use and ive been adding a lot of new shapes and tuning features to it. It can currently export an STL already oriented for printing, also SVG export for a perspective line rendering. You can share a design via a unique link, or save it as a project file and pick up where I left off. No backend, its just an HTML/JS app.
