Collecting Old Radios

I like to buy vintage AM/FM and shortwave radios. Sometimes I restore them, other times I hack the guts to up-cycle them into bluetooth speakers or ESP32-powered internet streaming radios.

An Italian shortwave tube radio from the 50s. It still works.

An ESP-32 powered internet radio. Displays text on 14-segment LED character displays using a custom designed PCB.

A converted radio with a bluetooth amplifier installed to replace the original tuner circuits, and a second speaker added for loudness.
